Data

Grafychat is designed to be local-first software.
Everything is happening and staying on your device.
Data only leaves your device for non-local LLM requests, such as requests to OpenAI.

The App uses your browser's storage, particularly IndexedDB.

Meaning if you clear your browser's cache, your data will be lost.

Please make sure you always have a backup of your data before clearing your browser's cache.

Backup

Backups are made manually by exporting plain backup.json files.
Go to App Settings > Data to export your data.

Import & Export

You can import and export your data at any time on any device.
Go to App Settings > Data to import or export your data.

Cloud Sync?

Grafychat is designed to be local-first, however sync solution is in the works and is planned to be an additional product.
